If you have been following the news, you would have read about the on-going pilot programme organised by AEAS (Association of Employment Agencies) amidst the border restrictions. It is an initiative to facilitate more foreign domestic workers (FDWs) from source countries (Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, India etc.) to enter Singapore and meet the rising demands of FDWs.

Pilot programme participants at Manila airport

The programme started out with the Philippines market since mid-July 2021. As of today, Myanmar and India are the latest two source countries added to the list. At an additional cost of about $2,000+, participants of this programme have to abide with strict quarantine protocols and undergo frequent testing throughout the two-weeks quarantine, otherwise, they will be terminated from the whole process and AEAS will refund employers accordingly based on a pro-rated basis less necessary costs incurred.

Source CountryTotal Costs (including airfare/ferry)
Philippines$1,850 + $270 air (excl GST)
Myanmar$1,950 + $500 (excl GST)
Indonesia$1,800 (excl GST)

After the FDWs have arrived in Singapore, they are still required to undergo Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) in Singapore for 10 days (about $1,370 for single room including meals and PCR tests).
